Marjorie A. Kientz

Marjorie A. Kientz, formerly of Fairmount, Indiana was born on April 29, 1928 in Yoder, Indiana to James and Helen Johnson. She made the transition from this life into the next on Wednesday, December 20, 2017.

Marge married Forest C. Kientz on June 11, 1954 in Jeffersonville, Indiana. She graduated from Taylor University (Bachelor of Religious Education); Indiana Wesleyan University
(Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education); Ball State University (Master of Arts in Elementary Education with a minor in Librarianship). She taught school in Logansport, Fairmount, and Marion, Indiana for twenty-two years.
She played the piano or organ for seventy-four years at Yoder and Fairmount, Indiana and First Cumberland Presbyterian Church of Oak Ridge, Tennessee. She was a member of Fairmount Baptist Church for 45 years and served as treasurer, pianist and organist, and was a member of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church of Oak Ridge for 17 years and served as our organist and was a member of our CPWM. Marge enjoyed family history and wrote five genealogy books about her family.
Marge is survived by a step-daughter, Hannah (Roy) Farris of Brooksville, Florida and special friends, Millie and Sheryl Richards, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Forest, her son, John David, her parents, James and Helen Johnson, five brothers, Gilford, Walter, Harold, Bruce, and Dennis, and a step-daughter, Margaret (Robert) Martz.

Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 415 S. Main Street, Fairmount, Indiana are handeling local arrangements. Memorial service celebrating Marge’s life will be at 11 AM on June 19, 2018 at the Fairmount Baptist Church, 1201 N. Main Street, Fairmount, Indiana, Friends may visit from 10 AM -11 AM prior to the service. Marge’s cremains will be buried at Park Cemetery, Fairmount, Indiana.
