Marion Police respond to Robbery

MARION, Ind. – On June 24, 2019 at approximately 2:21 pm, Marion Police responded to the 700 Block of West 17th Street for an individual that reported being beaten and robbed.

Victim Terrell D. Dean, age 21 of Marion reported that he received a phone call by his baby’s mother to go and check on his child. Dean went to visit his child at Somerset Apartments, located in the 2000 Block of West Kem Road. Dean reported that upon his arrival to the apartment he was greeted by three males who drug him inside the apartment. Dean reported that three males were in possession of handguns and began beating him about the head with them. Dean was able to get free from the suspects and ran from the apartment complex. Dean reported that the suspects took an undetermined about of currency and his cellular phone.

An ambulance was requested as Dean sustained various cuts and bruises to his head. The ambulance arrival and transported Dean to Marion General Hospital for further medical treatment.

Officers obtained a search warrant for the apartment in which the battery and robbery took place. Upon executing the search warrant no individuals were located in the apartment.
