Margie L. Dawson

Margie L. Dawson, 88, Marion, went to be with the Lord at 1:16 pm on Tuesday, April 12, 2022, in her home. She was born in Hart County, Kentucky, on Monday, December 25, 1933, to Clarence and Maude (Mansfield) Faulkner. She was married to Ronald Dawson on November 19, 1956, a journey they took together for 66 years.

Mrs. Dawson attended Marion High School and retired as a Resource teacher in the Marion Community Schools. She was a member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, where she enjoyed singing in the choir and playing piano.

Because of her love for music, she enjoyed supporting kids in music and band across the United States. Mrs. Dawson was also an avid bowler, enjoying the camaraderie that came with being with her friends. She was a devout lover of the Lord, always having a Bible verse to uplift the spirit.

In addition to her husband, Ronald, survivors include her sons, Fred McCreary of Marion and Ronald L. (Mary Kay) Dawson, Jr., of Carmel; daughters, Kim (Odester) Dawson-Horton of Marion and Marsha McCreary of Marion; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; brother, Reverend Robert E. Faulkner of Milwaukee, WI; and sister, Birdie Elizabeth Faulkner-Twitty of Riverside, CA.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Reverend Dr. James C.E. Faulkner.

The family will receive visitors from 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm on Monday, April 18, 2022, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.

Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Margie’s life will begin at 2:00 pm with Rev. William Gibson officiating. Burial will take place at Estates of Serenity.
