Lorene (Tackett) Sparks, 78, of Foley, AL, formerly of Grant County, IN, passed away at 5:00 AM on Friday, June 8, 2018 at her home in Foley. She was born on Friday, September 8, 1939, in Mount Sterling, KY to Felix and Gladys Tackett. She married William “Bill” Sparks on Wednesday, February 14, 1973 in Indiana. Lorene was a member of the Harvest Church outside of Foley. Her and her husband Bill moved to the area in 2000. She enjoyed cooking and bowling; she especially loved her shih tzu’s, Princess and Sandy.
Loving Survivors include: Husband-Bill Sparks, Foley, AL, Daughters-Marilyn (Kevin) Buckmaster, Vicksburg, MI, Barbara Lynn Hudson, Fort Wayne, IN, Step Son-William Edward Sparks, Marion, IN, Step Daughter- Darlene Alva Sparks, Sweetser, IN, 9 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren, Brothers – Howard, Harlan, Robert, Ernie Ray, Bruce, Sisters – Juanita, Trula Bell, Alta Lou, Clara Fay, Brenda, Dianna, Debra Jean, Pamela Sue, Eddie May.
She was preceded in death by her parents Felix & Gladys (White) Tackett. Brothers – Elwood, Felix Jr. and Sisters- Estal, Bobbie Jean.
Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Ferguson & Glancy Funeral Home 201 N Main Street Van Buren on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. A service to celebrate Lorene’s life will follow at 2:00 PM with Pastor John Schell officiating. Interment will follow in the Van Buren Cemetery in Van Buren.
