Loa Marlene Cole, 84, Gas City, passed away at 5:00 am on Thursday, October 15, 2020, at University Nursing Center in Upland. She was born in Casper, Wyoming, on Wednesday, January 8, 1936, to Johnny Labao and Gertrude (Weaver) Behag.
She worked at Lance’s New Market and Cablec for several years. Loa loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She loved sports; one of her favorite things was attending her grandchildren’s activities. She loved gardening and her flowers. She especially loved her Chihuahuas and her cat, Blackie.
Survivors include her daughters, Linda (Randy) Gould of Pendleton, Teresa (Roger) Holder of Marion, Barbara Smithson of Gas City, Mary Lou (Fred) Newsom of Marion, and Marcie (Rob) Everhart of Gas City; grandchildren, Jeff Gould, Mindy McMain, Max Holder, Doug Testerman, Davin Testerman, Tawni Winters, Autumn Eastes, Cody Crick, and Joshua Crick; and great-grandchildren, Malaki, Jayden, Paige, Ethan, Kannon, Jaci, Tempest, Sloane, Carter, Cohen, Creighton, and Freyja.
She was preceded in death by her father, Johnny Labao; mother, Gertrude Behag; daughter, Cheryl Crick; adopted-father, Max Behag; brothers, Theodore Behag, and James “Juan” Behag; grandson, Joey Holder; and great-granddaughter, Callie Gould.
The family will receive visitors from 11 am to 1 pm on Tuesday, October 20, 2020, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN.
Immediately following the visitation, a service to celebrate Loa’s life will begin at 1 pm with Pastors Mick Simpkins and Tawni Winters officiating. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery.
