Leonard L. Needler, 84, Converse, died at 6:28 a.m. on Tuesday, October 16, 2018, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. He was born in Upland on May 25, 1934, to the late Ray and Edith (Tutterow) Needler. On December 24, 1955, he married Dorothy M. Johnson, and she preceded him in death on March 14, 2005, after 50 years of marriage.
Leonard served in the United States Marine Corps and had worked for Dana Corporation in Marion, retiring after 40 years of service.
He is survived by his children, Roger (Ruth Ellen) Needler, Carmel, Gail Bright, Converse, and Rodney (Margaret) Needler, St. Petersburg, Florida; grandchildren, Pete (Jenni) Needler, Ty (Taylour) Needler, Brad (Tara) Needler, Mitch (Rachel) Bright, Matthew Needler, and Johnna Needler; great-grandchildren, Addie, Ellie, Oliver, Abby, and Cal; sister, Glenna Faye Clay, Marion; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.
In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by a sister, Anna Mae Butler.
A private graveside service will take place at a later date at Grant Memorial Park in Marion.
