Larry L. Landis

Larry L. Landis, 86, of Peru, passed away at 12:30 A.M., Thursday, December 13, 2018 at Century Villa Health Care, Greentown, IN. He was born in Peru on January 29, 1932, the son of Raymond and Thelma Schram Landis. Larry married Sharon Morton in Cissna Park, IL on Oct. 29, 1961 and she survives. Larry and Sharon celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary this past October. Larry was a 1950 graduate of Peru High School and a US Air Force Veteran. He was retired Eckrich employee and a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. Larry was an avid basketball fan, and thoroughly enjoyed fishing. In his retirement, his summer and fall days were spent at Big Portage Lake, Backus, MN with his wife Sharon. Family was very important to Larry, and he was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Surviving in addition to his wife, Sharon, are daughters Jodi West and husband Kevin of Brownsburg, IN and Jill Campbell and her husband Steve of Kokomo; a brother Jerry Landis of Peru; a sister Judy Becker of Kokomo; a sister-in-law Joan Morton of Cissna Park, IL; grandchildren Patrick West and his fiancée Andrea, Rachel West, Nathan Campbell and his wife Jessica and Megan Campbell and her fiancé Grant and great-grandchildren Brantlee Campbell and Carson Campbell. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. A service celebrating the life of Larry L. Landis will be held at 10:30 A.M., Monday, December 17, 2018 at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home, 84 West Main St., Peru with Pastor Kenneth Greenwald officiating. Burial with full Military Honors provided by the Miami County Military Rites Unit will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Peru. Family and friends will gather from 1:00 to 4:00 P.M, Sunday at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made through the funeral home to the St. Vincent Kokomo Hospice or St. John’s Lutheran Church.
