Janet L. Anderson, 87, Marion, went to be with the Lord at 11:17 a.m. on Wednesday, December 12, 2018, at Marion General Hospital. A lifelong resident of Marion, Janet was born on April 12, 1931, to the late Glen and Luella (Heffner) Owings. She married her loving husband, Carl Anderson, in 1951, and he preceded her in death in 1995.
Janet’s career was spent in service to children at Marion Community Schools, where she worked in the cafeteria. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star #94, Grant County Genealogical Society, and First Friends Church. She enjoyed traveling, reading, but especially visiting her family.
She is survived by her children, Jay (Laurie) Anderson, Whittier, CA, Judy Anderson, Gas City, and Scott (Mila) Anderson, Dallas, TX; grandchildren, Christopher (Brenda) Anderson, Kevin Anderson, Carl Thomas Anderson, Phillip Anderson, and Pearl Anderson; and 4 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive visitors from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, December 16, 2018, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
Janet’s funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, December 17, 2018, at the funeral home with Pastor Jeff Nagell officiating. Burial will follow at Estates of Serenity.
