Khristina Lynn “Kristy” Bucher

Khristina Lynn “Kristy” Bucher, 74, of Warsaw, Indiana, formerly of Wabash, Indiana, died at 12:24 am, Monday, September 4, 2023, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana.  She was born on February 3, 1949, in Perrysville, Indiana, to Lewis and Helen Ann (Kamhout) Kemna.

Kristy was a 1967 graduate of North Vermillion High School, and received her bachelor’s degree from Purdue University in 1971. She married David Dean Bucher in Perrysville, Indiana on February 1, 1969. Kristy worked in human resources, and was the Jobs Program Director for Wabash County. She was a former member of the Artese Club in Wabash, and also several different professional organizations in Warsaw. Kristy enjoyed reading, the fall season, nice cars, shoes, and purses, fishing, concerts in the park, convertible rides, and taking long baths. She also enjoyed coffee, feeding people, her mom’s spaghetti sauce, white cake with white icing, and making all kinds of lists. Kristy liked a good adventure, taking a long boat ride at the lake, cruises, family vacations, getting a bargain from thrift stores, consignment shops, and garage sales,  watching HGTV and DIY projects. She had a sense of humor, enjoyed a good laugh about funny stories of her grandkids, but the most important thing in her life was her family.  

She is survived by her husband, David Bucher of Warsaw, two daughters, Deana Lynn (Emmett) Bucher Glass of Fishers, Indiana, and Denise Marie (Matt) Bucher Krebs of Zionsville, Indiana, four grandchildren, Emily Kristine Glass and Alexander Emmett Glass, both of Fishers, and Parker David Krebs and Owen Anthony Krebs, both of Zionsville, and sister, LouAnn Kemna Ward of Nappanee, Indiana.  She was preceded in death by her parents. 

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Friday, September 8, 2023, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash, with David Phillips officiating. Burial will be in Falls Cemetery, Wabash.  Friends may call 12:30 – 2:00 pm, Friday, at the funeral home.

Preferred memorial is Down Syndrome Indiana.
