Keith Cranor

Keith Cranor, 87, Marion, went to be with the Lord at 5:30 a.m. on March 30th, 2018. He was born at home on December 16, 1930, to the late Mode and Ruby Mae (Davis) Cranor in Greentown, IN.

He grew up on the family farm near Sweetser, IN and graduated from Sweetser High School in 1949. After graduating from high school he served in the Infantry Branch of the U.S. Army for 3 years where he obtained the rank of Staff Sergeant and received the National Defense Service and Good Conduct Medals. After his military service was complete, he returned home and on July 18, 1954 married Dolores M. (Miller) Cranor.

He was a dairy farmer until 1978 after which he worked as a Manufacturing Warehouse Manager for a division Sonoco Products Company from which he retired in 1992. Keith’s lifelong passion was serving the Lord through his church, Converse Church of Christ. He served in many roles including, elder, board chair, missions committee chair, Sunday school teacher and bible study leader. He was also a member of the local American Legion and will be having a military graveside service.

Survivors include his wife, Dolores, Marion; three sons, Brian (Jamie) Cranor, Fishers, Steven Cranor, Chicago, and David (Towana) Cranor, Fishers; grandchildren, Derrick Cranor, Indianapolis, Alissa Cranor, Indianapolis, and Lauren Lanteigne and children, Isaac, Madalyn, Beckham and Bella, Fishers, Lindsay (Mike) Siara and sons Isaiah & Abel, Noblesville, Lacey (Zack) Conner, Indianapolis, Christian Cranor, Fishers.

The family will receive visitors from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at the Converse Church of Christ, 301 E. Wabash St., Converse, IN. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Pastors John Clark and David Wheeler officiating.

The burial will immediately follow in Converse Cemetery. Local arrangements were entrusted to Owen-Weilert-Duncan Funeral Home, Larrison-Martin Chapel, 308 E. Marion St., Converse, IN.
