Mike Stallings, 73, of Huntington, IN, passed away on Friday, March 30, 2018, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, IN.
Mr. Stallings was born on November 10, 1944, in Huntington, IN, to George W. and Elizabeth (Wilkinson) Stallings. His parents preceded him in death.
Mike graduated from Carmel High School in 1962. He attended the University of South Carolina for 1 year. He transferred and graduated from Huntington College, and then attended graduate school at Ball State University where he received a Master’s degree in English.
He toured with the rock band Mason Profit as an English tutor for several years and saw the United States. Mike was a real estate developer and loved history. He loved the Wabash River Valley and even though he left to further his education and experiences, he always returned. He could be described as being a devout Anarchist and Atheist.
He is survived by his lifelong partner of 40 years, Patrick Ramsdell, Huntington, IN; one son, Ian Stallings, San Francisco, CA; two sisters, Theresa Diener, Dephi, IN, and Mary (Shawn) Chambers, Mt. Juliet, TN and several nieces and nephews.
A time of Remembrance will be held on Tuesday, April 3, 2018, at noon, immediately followed by a time for calling until 2:30 p.m. at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN.
