Judy Kay Speitel Sumner

Judy Kay Speitel Sumner, 78, was born on August 18, 1940, to Robert “Bob” E. and Dortha Mae (Cook) Speitel in Marion, IN.  She had one sibling, a sister, Jacqueline R. Speitel Host.  Judy graduated from Sweetser High School and Marion Business College.  She married Richard D. Sumner on May 8, 1966, and they had three sons together—Richard, Robert, and Randall.

Judy enjoyed painting and photography and also loved to travel the United States.  She and her family lived in Indiana, Idaho, and Alaska.  The last several years, Judy and Darryl resided in Haines City, FL.  This is where she said goodbye to her earthly life and went home to her heavenly father.  Judy was a member of the Faith Wesleyan Church in Haines City, FL.

She leaves behind her husband of 52 years of marriage, Richard, Haines City, FL; two sons, Rick Sumner, Marion, and Randy (Carmen) Sumner, Merlin, OR; grandson, R.J. Sumner, TX; two great-grandchildren; sister, Jackie Host, Gas City; cousin, Joyce Dewitt; sister-in-law, Irene (Bob) Booher; two nephews, Byron and Rusty Booher; two nieces, Mary Walker and Sarah Chapel; and one nephew, Terry Host.

Those preceding Judy in passing include her parents, Bob and Dortha Speitel; son, Rob Sumner; and grandparents, Chester (Neva) Cook.

A memorial service for Judy will take place at 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 1, 2018, at Grant Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel, 1606 W. 26th St., Marion, IN.  Rev. Gerald Moreland will be officiating with inurnment following at Grant Memorial Park.

Arrangements are entrusted to Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
