Joshua L. Hewitt, 50, of Marion, passed away on Sunday, February 25, 2024, at St. Vincent Hospital and Health Services in Indianapolis. He was born in Marion, Indiana, on November 16, 1973, to Robert J. Abernathy and Debbie Hewitt Dobbs.
Joshua was a bell ringer for the Salvation Army for 13 years. He loved CB radios, building model cars, and fishing. He also enjoyed working on cars and helping everyone else with theirs. Joshua had a great sense of humor about his disability, and he loved his family very much.
He is survived by his wife, Tiffany Hewitt of Marion; daughter, Destynee (Gannon Beene) Hewitt of Marion; son, Ezekiel Hewitt of Marion; sisters, Deanna Dobbs of Florida and Jennifer Bragg of Fort Wayne; nieces, Destanee Dobbs of Florida, Desiree Dobbs of Marion, and two other nieces; one nephew; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and very close friends, Matt (April) Russell.
He was preceded in death by both of his parents and his favorite cousin, Jozh Hudson.
At Joshua’s request, there will be no public visitation or funeral service. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
