John “Johnny” William Brumley

John “Johnny” William Brumley, Jr., 49, Marion, passed away on Saturday, May 28, 2022, at his home in Marion. He was born in Marion, Indiana, on July 4, 1972, to John Brumley and Loretta (Bird) Campbell. On July 11, 1998, he married his loving wife, Gennifer Yeakle.  

John graduated from Marion High School and worked at Marion Engineering and Technology for 30 years. He started at the bottom doing janitor work and began learning the skilled trade of being a machinist. He then later advanced to shop foreman and eventually plant manager. He loved crappie fishing and tournaments, hunting, and coaching his kids’ sporting events. John was always working on a project, and he always finished them. He also loved restoring vehicles and construction projects. He was a great handyman. Someone was always calling him for help, and he was always more than happy to help. More than anything, John loved spending time with his family. 

Survivors include his wife, Gennifer Brumley; children, Taylor Brumley and Jonathan Brumley; mother, Loretta (Larry) Campbell; sister, Lisa (Jesse) Cantu; nieces, Amanda Crouch and Ashton Crouch; and nephew, Austin (Savannah) Crouch. 

He was preceded in death by his father, John Brumley; father-in-law, Jeff Yeakle; and grandparents, Grover (Helen) Bird. 

The family will receive visitors from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Thursday, June 2, 2022, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN. 

Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate John’s life will begin at 5:00 pm.
