Joan was a 1955 graduate of Wabash High School. She married Charles Jacoby in Wabash on June 11, 1954; he died January 15, 2008. Joan worked at Gackenheimer Pharmacy in Wabash, retiring after 20 years. She was a member of the Lincolnville United Methodist Church, Etna Acres Golf League, the Ladies Euchre Club, and a former member of the Happy Attitude Red Hatters in North Manchester and the Womans Clubhouse Association in Wabash. Joan enjoyed golfing, playing euchre, and bowling.
She is survived by her three sisters-in-law, Dorotha Horine and Julie Jacoby, both of Wabash, and Patricia Jacoby of Clearwater, Florida, and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents, son, Gary D. Jacoby who died December 12, 2004, three brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be 10:30 am, Thursday, March 14, 2024, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash, with Brad Wright officiating. Entombment will be in Chapel of Remembrance Mausoleum, Wabash. Friends may call 9-10:30 am Thursday at the funeral home.
