Wilda was a 1957 graduate of Deedsville High School, and received her nursing degree from Indiana University Kokomo School of Nursing. She married Richard L. Slisher at the Silver Creek United Methodist Church on March 22, 1957; he died July 12, 2017. Wilda was a registered nurse at the Marion Veterans Administration Hospital, retiring after 19 years. She attended the Roann Christian Church. Wilda enjoyed cooking, sewing, and vegetable and flower gardening.
She is survived by three daughters, Sharon (Steve) Hagan of Denver, Indiana, Lanice (Tim) Foltz and Renata (Ed) Bolen, both of Roann; eight grandchildren, Wendy (Ryan) Keim of Denver, Stacie (Joe) Deardorff and Ashley (Andrew Teal) Hagan, both of Fishers, Indiana, Brandi (Brent) Alwine of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Eric Foltz of Whitestown, Indiana, Erica (Kurt) Snyder of Roann, Chaston (Pepper) Smithers of Peru, Indiana, and Jason (Brittany) Bolen of Roann; 16 great grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; sisters, Jean Halterman of Macy, and Lois (Michael) Lyons of Rochester, Indiana. She was also preceded in death by her parents, brother, and two sisters.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Sunday, March 10, 2024, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash, with Chris Ponchot officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery, Macy, Indiana. Friends may call 2-6 pm Saturday, at the funeral home.
Preferred memorial is St. Jude Childrens Hospital.
