Janet S. Jackson, 84, Marion, entered her heavenly home on Saturday, February 18, 2023. She was born in Marion, Indiana, on Thursday, December 22, 1938, to Kenneth and Edith (Small) Davison. Janet was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She married her high school sweetheart, Robert “Bob” Jackson on December 1, 1957 at South Marion Friends Church, where they attended church up until 1982. At that time, they began attending Upland Community Church where they have attended faithfully for the last 41 years.
She was a bookkeeper for Jackson Dairy Farm, INC (Jackson Bros. Farm) up until January of 2022 and an integral part of helping grow a small family farm into a much larger business. She was known for the meals she fixed for her family and farmhands at lunchtime; including her field lunches of the best cheeseburgers and tea jars full of sweet iced tea that she brought to everyone working in the fields.
Janet is survived by her husband of 65 years, Robert “Bob” Jackson; her brother, David (Sue) Davison; sons, Jay (Juli) Jackson, Duane (Susan) Jackson, Tim Jackson; daughter, Sue Jackson; 9 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth N. and Edith A. Davison and her brother, John Davison.
The family will receive visitors from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Sunday, February 26, 2023 as well as 1 hour prior to the service on Monday, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN.
A Funeral Service to celebrate Janet’s life will begin at 11:00 am on Monday February 27, 2023, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral and Cremation Services, Storey Chapel 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN. Pastor Mark Biehl will be officiating with burial following at Grant Memorial Park.
