Christopher N. “Chris” Columbus, 64, of Marion, passed away at 11:36 pm on Friday, February 17, 2023. He was born in Marion, Indiana, on Sunday, December 14, 1958, to Frank “Sonny” and Julia (Enyeart) Columbus.
He served in the Army National Guard as a fleet mechanic and also worked at Jet Trucking. Chris was an avid NASCAR fan and his favorite driver was Dale Jr. He enjoyed working on cars and had traveled the states helping with hurricane relief projects. Chris will be remembered as a loving husband and father who will be dearly missed.
Survivors include his wife, Connie Columbus of Marion; son, Rob Columbus of Marion; step-sons, Rick Reed and Jeff Joseph; grandchildren, Lil Ricky Reed, Gabe Goodnight, Lilly Reed, and Leeanna Sexton; brother, Frankie Columbus; several nieces, nephews and friends; his dog, Milo; and kitties, Sissy and Poo.
He was preceded in death by parents, Frank “Sonny” and Judy Columbus; sisters, Tina Columbus, Marie Columbus, Paula Columbus; cats, Lacy, Curly Sue, and Clovis.
The family will receive visitors from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Saturday, February 25, 2023, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral and Cremation Services, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN.
Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Chris’ life will begin at 1:00 pm with Chaplain Mark Storey officiating. Burial will take place at Grant Memorial Park.
