Gerald E. McKinley, 88, Marion, died at 3:18 p.m. on Thursday, March 31, 2016, at Marion General Hospital. He was born in Peru, IN, to the late Lloyd and Jessie (Hinkle) McKinley.
Gerald retired from RCA after 33 years. He later worked as a security guard with Pinkerton Security, and he owned McKinley Body Shop and B&G Grocery. A couple of his favorite hobbies were camping and fishing.
Gerald is survived by his children, Janet McKinley, Marion, and Jerry (Lori) McKinley, Fairmount; four foster children, Terry Payne, Fairmount, Clinton Payne, Gas City, Richard Payne, MO, and Timmy Payne, MO; siblings, Robert (Florence) McKinley, Peru, Betty (Daryl) Ashley, Peru, and Barbara (LeRoy) Miller, Peru; grandchildren, Summer (Stephen) Wheeler, Marion, Jacob (Maggie) McKinley, Fairmount, and April Bartrum; great-grandchildren, Tora Wheeler and Stephen Wheeler, Jr.; and special friend, Roger Martz, Marion.
In addition to his parents, Gerald was preceded in death by his great-grandchildren, Brayden Colburn and Chloe McKinley.
Friends and family may call from 10 a.m. to 12 noon on Monday, April 4, 2016, at Integrity Funeral Care, 2901 S. Washington St., Marion, IN. Funeral services will begin at 12 noon with Pastor Mick Simpkins officiating. Burial will follow at Grant Memorial Park, Marion.
