Gary Lloyd Cassidy, 77, of Marion, passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at Marion Health. He was born in Bloomington, Indiana, on October 3, 1945, to Lloyd and Pauline (Wright) Cassidy.
Gary attended Marion High School and proudly joined the United States Marine Corps after high school. Following his military service, Gary was self-employed, working as a licensed independent contractor and in heating and air-conditioning. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and poetry. He also loved local history and traveling around to see covered bridges.
Gary is survived by his two children, Tracy (Paul) King and Chaunce (Heidi) Cassidy; grandchildren, Ella Cassidy, Alex Cassidy, Kate King, and Trevor King; two siblings, Peggy McAnany and Randy Cassidy; and special friend who loved and cared for him, Wanda Dodd and her sons.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Michael Rod Cassidy; four sisters, Joan Weber, Janet Clendening, Barbara Harrington, and Pamela Cassidy; and two brothers, John Cassidy and Phillip Cassidy.
At Gary’s request, there will be no public visitation or funeral service.
Arrangements are entrusted to Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
