Gary G. Landrum, 67, Marion, passed away on Friday, December 17, 2021, in his home. He was born in Marion, Indiana, on, April 7, 1954, to Ralph Landrum and Phyllis (Gill) Landrum.
Gary graduated from Marion High School in 1972. He continued his education at Tri-State University, where he graduated with an accounting degree. Following college, he worked at Marion Tool Corp. In 2014, Gary was appointed to the position of Grant County Assessor and served four years. He had previously worked in the office until he became the Assessor.
Gary was an avid bowler and a member of the Marion Bowling Association. He had bowled two perfect scores of 300. He enjoyed golfing, softball, track, and cross country. He had also participated in his high school marching band. He loved playing disc golf with his son, Craig, and playing air guitar with his best friend, Kent Seavers. He was a man of simplicity, a man of few words, humble, honest, and methodical. Gary also loved watching westerns on TV.
Survivors include his daughter, Corinne (Riley) Rose of Gas City; son, Craig Landrum of Marion; grandchildren, Dalton, Darah, Lio, and Ryder; siblings, Brian (Kathy) Landrum and Lori (JC) Porter; former wives, Karen Damron Nichols and Nikki Owen; step-son, Toby (Angie) Barnes; and step-brother, Dan Oradat.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his step-father, Ray Oradat.
A celebration of Gary’s life will be held from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, December 22, 2021, at Marion Elks Country Club, 1100 E. Bond Ave., Marion, IN 46952.
