Beatrice “Bea” I. Nash, 93, Marion, passed away at 9:25 am on Friday, December 17, 2021, in her home. She was born in Matthews, Indiana, on Sunday, February 5, 1928, to Val Christopher and Thelma Irene (Brown) Fights. On June 10, 1947, she married Charles W. Nash, and he survives.
Bea graduated from Jefferson Township High School. She was a beautician and eventually became owner/operator of her own beauty shop. She was a member of the Calico Sets square dancing club. She enjoyed shopping, traveling, cooking, canning, and especially spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include her husband, Charles W. Nash of Marion; son, Gary W. (Cindi) Nash of Spring City, TN; granddaughters, Shelly (Ron Reese) Rogers, Melissa (Kelly) Lamb, Leah (Pete Charese) Hiles, and Jennifer (Kevin) Yocum; grandson, Doug Nash; great-granddaughters, Jenna (Bryan) Jackson, Megan (Marcus Sanders) Rogers, Erika (Josh Randolph) Rogers, Morgan Lamb, Alex Lamb, Riley (Ahmad Nunnally) Lamb, Brittany (Austin Armstrong) Nash, Sophia Nash, and Savannah Herrera; great-grandsons, Dylan (Hannah) Nash, Zach Nash, Matthew Yocum, James (Chelsea) Mills, and Troy Mills; nine great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Janet Rector and Patricia Gillespie; sisters-in-law, Virginia Fights, Dorothy Fights, and Barbara Fights; and mother of grandchildren, Diane Foreman.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Robert (Virginia) Fights, Alfred (Viola) Fights, Virgil (Dorothy) Fights, and Howard (Barbara) Fights; and sisters, Virginia (Cecil) Wright and Barbara (Fred) Black.
The family will receive visitors from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Wednesday, December 22, 2021, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN.
Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Bea’s life will begin at 1:00 pm. Pastor Mick Simpkins and Pastor Brian Wise will be officiating. Burial will take place at Matthews Cemetery.
