Frank M. Purvis, 89, Marion, passed away at Miller’s Merry Manor in Marion at 6:10 a.m. on Friday, November 2, 2018. He was born in Marion on December 24, 1928, to the late Milton and Matilda Purvis. He was married to his loving wife, Willowdean Bishir, who preceded him in death on January 29, 2013.
Frank was a veteran of the U.S. Army and retired from West Point Foundry. He enjoyed fishing, looking for deer, playing cards, and especially smoking his pipe.
He is survived by his daughters, Shirley (Lester) Cox, LaFontaine, Arlena McGrew, Houston, TX, and Mary Tomlinson, Marion; sister, Jeananne, Kokomo; 10 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.
Also preceding him in death were his brothers, Bob Purvis and Albert Purvis; half-brother, Jack Purvis; and son, Delbert Twichell.
The family will receive visitors from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with Frank’s funeral service beginning at 1 p.m. on Thursday, November 8, 2018, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN. Lois Helm will be officiating with burial following at Marion National Cemetery.
