Doris was born on February 26, 1947 in Huntington, the daughter of Clyde A. and Juanita Isabelle (Grush) Sills. She married Michael L. “Mike” Wininger on April 10, 1971 in Huntington. She worked at Indiana Molding for 26 years and spent 12 years in production at Northern Indiana Packaging, retiring in 2009. Doris was an avid reader of romance novels and loved spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Mike Wininger of Huntington, a son, Michael L. Wininger Jr. of Wabash, a brother, Steven Sills of Huntington, sisters Vicky Wininger of Mt. Etna, Melody Benfer of Huntington, and Shanna Schlichter of Bluffton, five grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. Her parents, eight brothers, and two sisters precede her in death.
