Doris Dooley, 94, of Warren, IN, passed away at 6:20 AM on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at Heritage Pointe in Warren. She was born on Saturday, March 8, 1924, in Huntington County, IN to the late Glen Alfred & Nevo (Hunnicutt) Beekman. She married Melvin Dooley on Saturday, March 20, 1943 at the Trinity United Methodist Church, Marion, IN; he survives. Together the two have celebrated 75 years of marriage. Doris was a 1942 graduate of Marion High School and was a member of the Van Buren Central Christian Church. Melvin and Doris moved to Heritage Pointe in 2001 from rural Marion. Doris enjoyed helping around the farm, taking care of her family, was an avid reader, and was known to spoil her neighbor girls.
Loving Survivors Include: Husband- Melvin “Mick” Dooley, Warren, IN, Son- Kerry (Betty) Dooley, Milford, MA, Daughter- Karen (David) Wilson, Norfolk, VA, Grandsons- Jeff Dooley, Mark Dooley, and Paul Wilson. Special Family Friends and Neighbors- Dr. Mark & Pamela Westfall and their daughters Haley, and Jamaica Westfall.
Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Heritage Pointe Applegate Chapel 801 Huntington Ave. Warren on Saturday, September 29, 2018 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. A service to celebrate her life will follow at Heritage Pointe Applegate Chapel at 2:00 PM on Saturday, September 29, 2018 with Chaplain Ginny Soultz officiating.
Preceded in death by her parents and Brother- James Beekman.
