Donna L. Shively

Donna L. Shively, 89, of Marion, long time resident of Gas City, passed away at 6:26 pm on Saturday, March 30, 2024, in her home. She was born in Grant County, Indiana, on Thursday, September 27, 1934, to Everett and Mildred (Stair) Price. On November 25, 1953, she married John E. Shively and he preceded her in death on February 25, 2015.

Donna graduated from Fairmount High School in 1952 and had worked at RCA in Marion in the late 1950’s and early 1960’s. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and had served on the kitchen committee for several years. Donna enjoyed making quilts, knitting, making ceramics and painting china. She was an avid Indiana Pacers fan. She was an excellent cook and loved making food for her family. She loved animals and had owned several pets over the years. Donna was an avid reader and also enjoyed solving jigsaw puzzles and canvas painting. Donna was dedicated to her family and being with those she loved brought her the most joy.

Survivors include her daughters, Lisa L. (Vince) Beneke of Gas City and Susan (Toby) Rosman-Weaver of Converse; son, Steve (Tracy) Shively of Greenwood; step-daughter, Jane (John) Davis of Marion; granddaughters, Elaine Ellis and Hannah (Tyler) Checkeye; grandsons, Logan (Marlee) Shively, Craig (Macie) Rosman, Jacob (Yvonne) Rosman and Bradley (Jasmine) Rosman; step-granddaughters, Andrea (Dan) Lane, Sandra Brown, Stacey Beneke-Helvie, Shanna (Pat) McClure, Stephanie (Bill) Decker, Megan (Jimi) Moore and Erin (Jackson) Gall; step-grandsons, John (Jennifer) Davis, Vince (Gina) Beneke and Daniel (Jodi) Weaver; great-granddaughters, Jori Shively and Naya Rosman; great-grandsons, Patrick Checkeye, Samuel Checkeye, Hoyt Rosman, Easton Rosman and Beckett Rosman; step-great-granddaughters, Kim (Jake) Warmoth, Kayla Lane, Kait Lane, Krissy Lane, Emma Brown, Charley Davis, Dani Davis, Cortney (Weston) Shanks, Hanna (Lee) Tinch, Kierstin (Matt) Kaim, Kirby Bott, Sydney Clevenger, Naomi Moore, Elsi Moore, Lucy Moore, Junia Moore, Daphne Gall and Sage Weaver; step-great-grandsons, Kevin (Rachael) Brown, Brody Davis, Cameron (Kelly) Helvie, Clay Helvie and Judah Weaver; 13 step-great-great-grandchildren; sister, Loretta (Late Joe) Blake; brothers, Tom (Nancy) Price, Terry (Jody) Wilson, Ed (Jackie) Price and Rick (Ann) Wilson; plus several nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Everett Price; mother, Mildred Wilson; loving husband of 62 years, John E. Shively; sisters, Bonnie Harrold, Martha Stilabower and Carolyn Price.

The family will receive visitors from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Friday, April 5, 2024, at New Hope Baptist Church, 800 E. S. “C” St. , Gas City, IN.

Immediately following the time of visitation, a Funeral Service to celebrate Donna’s life will begin at 6:00 pm with Pastor Curtis Rhoadarmer and Pastor Mick Simpkins officiating.
