Dondra L. Knight, 84, Gas City, passed away at 8:17 am on Saturday, March 30, 2024, at Lutheran Hospital of Indiana in Fort Wayne. She was born in Swayzee, Indiana, on Friday, June 23, 1939, to Louis Bush and Delores (Barker) Bonewitz.
Dondra graduated from Mississinewa High School and was a cashier for 22 years with Sazbo. She was a member of the Moose in Marion, Sympathy Club at Thomson Consumer Electronics, and Union Steward Local 1160. Dondra liked to travel and go on cruises. She also liked reading, gambling, and crafting. Most of all, Dondra enjoyed time spent with her family.
Survivors include her daughter, Deborah (Butch) Bowman of Gas City; grandchildren, Misty Bodkins of Gas City, Chad Lewis of Gas City, Shannon Dixon of Jonesboro, and Shaun (Casandra) Woodring of Gas City; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Wesley, Macenzie, Scott, and Aaliyah (Ryan); three great-great-grandchildren; and her fur babies, Zeus and Bentley.
She was preceded in death by her father, Louis Bush; mother and step-father, Delores (Barrett) Bonewitz; daughters, Tamra Schwyn and Sherri Jarvis; granddaughters, Elise Woodring and Amber Woodring; and great-grandchildren, Gaige and Jacob.
The family will receive visitors from 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm on Thursday, April 4, 2024, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN.
Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Dondra’s life will begin at 2:00 pm with Pastor Noah Farmer officiating. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery.
