Dennis W. Wesling

Dennis departed his loving family on December 10, 2023 at his home. Dennis was born in Marion on April 7, 1950 to Robert and Ruby (Cochran) Wesling.

Dennis graduated from Mississinewa High School, Gas City, Indiana in 1968.

Dennis was an uncle to Diana, Stephanie, Lesa, Debbie, Laurie, Thomas, Jon, Jimmy, Wendy, Shane, Kyle, Kellie, Taylor, Gabby, Nicolette, Trevor, Felecia, Tara, Maxwell, Erika, Rebecca, Alaina, Nathan, and Amy.

With his mischievous smile and playful personality, he turned ordinary moments into extraordinary ones…”

Dennis started his meat cutting career at a young age with the Twin City Locker in Gas City, Indiana.  He then went on to Solms Shurway in Gas City until they closed.  He ended his meat cutting career at Kroger in Huntington, Indiana where he retired.   

He loved cooking, canning, and smoking meat.  His other hobbies included family cookouts, boating, and hanging out with his loved ones at the family lake cottage on Beaver Damn Lake.   He was an avid Notre Dame fan; and arguably Lou Holtz’s best friend.  

He is survived by his brothers, Richard Wesling (Karen) of Gas City, and Gary Wesling of Gas City; sister-in- law, Margaret Wesling; nieces, Diana Wesling Smith (Ross), Debbie Wesling Dilts, Lesa Wesling Cota, Laurie Wesling, Wendy Wesling Dabb; nephews, Thomas Wesling, Jon Wesling (Aimee), Jimmy Wesling, Shane Wesling (Joanna); and special friend, Vicki Blessing.

Dennis was proceeded in death by his sister, Sondra Lou Wesling; parents, Robert Wesling and Ruby Wesling (Cochran); brother, Arnold Wesling; sister-in-law Patricia Wesling; sister-in-law, Donna Weslin, and niece, Stephanie Wesling Cunningham.

The family will receive visitors from 11:00 am to 12:00 noon on Friday, December 15, 2023 at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, Storey Chapel 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN.

Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Dennis’ life will begin at 12:00 noon with Pastor Mick Simpkins officiating.  Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery.
