David Ernest Seitz, 64, of Marion, passed from this earth 10:25 am on Monday, October 9, 2023. He was born in Clay Center, Kansas, on Saturday, September 19, 1959, to Duane and Jo Ellen (Van Der Stelt) Seitz.
He attended Kansas schools until moving with his parents and family to Marion, Indiana where he graduated from Marion High School. He attended Marion College, briefly before being employed by Marion Cable TV (now Spectrum) where he continued to work more than 40 years. He was also a member of American Legion Post 10.
As a teenager, during a summer mission trip with his family, David made his commitment to Jesus Christ.
David was hard-working and was willing to assist with most any task that needed to be done. He loved the outdoors, golfing and enjoyed hunting, especially during deer season.
David is survived by wife, Michele Seitz of Marion; parents, Duane and JoEllen Seitz of Marion; daughter, Clarissa (Kent) Fritch of Marion; step daughter, Megan (Matt) Bishir of Converse; step sons, Jack McIlwain of Warsaw, Jamie Ward of TX; 11 grandchildren; brother, Daniel (Marie) Seitz of Marion; sisters, Debra J (Steve) Newcomer of Marion, Mary (Joe) Scheffer of Winamac, Ruthie (Henry) Freeman of Marion; mother in law, Madelyn Pavlick of TX; sisters in law, Mary (Rich) Simpson of TX and Denise Pavlick of Indianapolis; several nieces and nephews; as well as Aunt, Rosie (Jose) Alvarado of Marion, IN.
At David’s request, there will be no public visitation but a memorial service will be held at a later date.
