Darren Duane Benson, 25, of Wabash, Indiana, died, Sunday, September 10, 2023, at his home. He was born on October 9, 1997, in Wabash, Indiana, to Darrell Duane and Deborah (Saulmon) Benson.
Darren was a 2016 graduate of Northfield High School. He is a United States Marine, where he served as machine gunner in the 1st Battalion, 7th Marines, 1st Marine Division. Darren worked construction with his father Darrell. He enjoyed collecting weapons, practicing jiu-jitsu, cage-boxing, and baseball.
Darren is survived by his parents, Darrell and Deb Benson, grandparents, Robert Dillon and Marteen (Saulmon) Dillon, all of Wabash, and several aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by grandparents, William E. and Mary Benson, and Ross Saulmon.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Sunday, September 17, 2023, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash, with Ryan Weaver officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawns Cemetery, Wabash. Friends may call 12:30 pm – 2:00 pm, Sunday, at the funeral home.
Preferred memorial is Wounded Warrior.
