Ruth Caudill, 90, of Wabash, Indiana, died at 3:05 am, Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at her home. She was born on August 19, 1933, in Clutts, Kentucky, to Audie and Nancy (Roberts) Powell.
Ruth married Arlie P. Caudill on May 30, 1951 in Clintwood, Virginia; he died February 9, 2016. She worked for Waggoner’s, General Tire, and Wal-Mart all in Wabash. Ruth enjoyed making crafts, sewing, and a good bargain at a garage sale. She was a member of the Wabash Chapel Worship Center, where she enjoyed singing in church. Ruth was a people person, who enjoyed cooking for family and friends, making sure no one went hungry. She loved her pets, but most importantly all of her grandchildren.
She is survived by five children, Jeannie (Chuck) McClory of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Sheila (Corky) Ross of Wabash, Joyce (Mike) Fisher of Andrews, Indiana, Marsha (Jim) Baumgartner of Roann, Indiana, and Rick (Felicia) Caudill of Denver, Indiana, 11 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren, sister, Jacqueline Clester, of Indianapolis, Indiana, and brother, Pete (Faye) Powell of Wabash. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two great-grandsons, one great-granddaughter, four brothers, and four sisters.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash, with Charles Osborne, Tim Prater, Terry Brewer, and Pete Powell officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawns Cemetery, Wabash. Friends may call 12:30 pm – 2:00 pm, Wednesday, at the funeral home.
