Danny Allen Strevy, 78, North Manchester, Indiana, passed away on July 30, 2023, at Parkview Randallia Hospital in Fort Wayne. The son of Alwin and Geraldine (Ruiter) Strevy, Danny was born on October 13, 1944, in Grand Haven, Michigan.
After graduating from high school in Michigan, Dan, as he liked to be called, entered the United States Army and served in the U.S. Army Pacific during the Vietnam War. He returned home after being honorably discharged and started his career in construction and welding until eventually retiring at age 62. Dan lived in Michigan where he loved to hobby farm. He also had a son from a previous marriage, Daniel A. Strevy, who sadly passed away on December 8, 2002.
After leaving Michigan, Dan moved to North Manchester and met and married Wilma J. Lemler Hudson on September 10, 2004. He brought a passion for Detroit sports and fishing with him to Indiana. Dan also relished in time spent in the garden and golfing. He was gifted with intelligence and had a knack for doing anything handy. He also had a deep appreciation and support for the military and was a member of the American Legion Post 286, North Manchester and the Moose Lodge 1518, North Manchester.
The loving memory of Danny Allen Strevy will be forever cherished by his wife, Wilma Strevy, brothers, Fredric Strevy, Grand Haven, Michigan and Rusty Strevy; and sister, Melody Gressett, Grand Haven, Michigan. Danny was preceded in death by his parents; son, Daniel A. Strevy; and sister, Carol Strevy.
A military service will be held Friday, August 4, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at Halderman Park, 605 North Market Street, North Manchester, Indiana, with Pastor J.P. Freeman officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family of Danny Strevy would like memorial contributions made to your local animal shelter.
