Dana Alan Budd

Dana Alan Budd, 68, of Marion, died after an 11-month battle with cancer.  He is survived by his wife, Michelle (Hendey) Budd of Marion, who so enjoyed being a part of his life; his loving mother, JoCena Budd of Fort Wayne; and his dear sister, Kimberly Richardson of Ossian.

Dana graduated from Heritage High School in Fort Wayne and attended Manchester College. He became a private airplane pilot at the age of 18, was a long-distance runner for 45 years, and completed 28 marathons.  He was a church organist for over 30 years.  At the age 60, he and Michelle started doing ‘50s ballroom dancing, as well as attending many classic car shows with their 1952 Chevy.  Dana worked for Jim Kelly Buick, CTN, and Turnstone, all in Fort Wayne. He loved his dogs, Lincoln and Codee.

Preceding him in death are his father, Earl Dean Budd; uncle, Max Budd; grandparents, Irvin (Faye) Calhoun and Earl (Leota) Budd; and first wife, Ella.

The family will receive visitors from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Thursday, February 16, 2023, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral and Cremation Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.

Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Dana’s life will begin at 1:00 pm with Chaplain Richard Olson officiating.  Burial will take place at Estates of Serenity.
