Linda Jean Wert, 74, Peru, passed away at 7:28 am on Friday, February 10, 2023, at Dukes Memorial Hospital in Peru. She was born in Wooster, Ohio, on Friday, February 20, 1948, to Clyde and Celia (Efferson) Winger.
Linda graduated from Wooster High School Class of ’66. Linda enjoyed fishing and solving jigsaw puzzles. She also loved animals and had owned cats over the years. More than anything Linda loved her family, especially preparing holiday meals and get-togethers.
Survivors include her son, Chris (Ethel Johnson-Wert) Wert of Peru; sister, Janet (Late Edward) Bucknell of Choctaw, OK; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Celia Winger; husband, Danny K. Wert; and sister, Patricia (Herbert) Johnson.
There will be a public graveside service which will begin at 1:00 pm at Marion National Cemetery with Pastor Mick Simpkins officiating.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral and Cremation Services, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN.
The family has requested that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be directed to Marion-Grant County Humane Society P.O. Box 1921, Marion, IN 46952.
