Bucky Walker, 80, Gas City, passed away at 5:05 am on Monday, July 18, 2022. She was born in Hartford, Connecticut, on Saturday, June 20, 1942, to Fred and Anna (Waller) Walker.
She worked at Foster Forbes, retiring in 1994. She was a member of Sunnycrest Baptist Church. She started the Grant County Thanksgiving Dinner that lasted 30+ years.
Survivors include her daughter, Jeannie (Adam) Trexler of Jonesboro; son, Josh Martin of Fairmount; sister, Fredia Sexton of Gas City; brother, Rick Walker of Marion, sister, Fredia Sexton of Gas City, sister, Geraldine McClellan of Streator, IL; 8 grandchildren; and very special daughters, Renee (Duane) Cornett and Roni Summers
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Anna Walker; brothers, Dale Walker, Tony Walker; and sister, Mary Lou Martin.
The family will receive visitors from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon on Wednesday, July 27, 2022, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN.
Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Bertha’s life will begin at 12:00 noon with Pastors Earl Spivey and Troy Bishop officiating. Burial will take place at Grant Memorial Park.
