Brian C. Applewhite, 62, Marion, passed away at 7:50 pm on Sunday, July 2, 2023, in his home. He was born in Marion, Indiana, on Tuesday, November 15, 1960, to Charles and Alfreda (Gulliford) Applewhite.
Brian graduated from Marion High School Class in 1979 and worked in production at Chrysler. He was a member of Christ Temple. Brian loved bird watching, astronomy, biology, drawing, reading (his #1 love), going to the movies every Sunday, the Chicago Cubs, and going to Sunday School. He also loved talking about education and/or politics. More than anything, Brian loved being around family and having family gatherings.
Survivors include his brother, Charles “David” (Angie) Applewhite of Marion; sisters, Inez Bethea of Marion and Teresa Applewhite of Huntington; nephew, Brent D. (Crystal) Applewhite of Huntington, who was more like a brother to him; and a host of nieces and nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles M. Applewhite, Jr., and mother, Alfreda Applewhite.
The family will receive visitors from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon on Saturday, July 15, 2023, at Christ Temple, 1401 S. Adams St., Marion, IN.
Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Brian’s life will begin at 12:00 noon with Pastor Jonathan Weatherly officiating. Burial will take place at Grant Memorial Park.
