Beverly A. Wibel- Frehse, 89, of Peru passed away on Monday, January 15, 2024 at Dukes Memorial Hospital.
She was born January 24, 1934 in Wabash, Indiana to Rolland A. Young and Deloris (Brunn) Young. She married Walter Frehse in April of 2005 and he survives. She graduated from Wabash High School in 1952.
Her passion was reading. She also along with The Women of The Pink Ladies, started the gift shop at Dukes Memorial Hospital. She was a member of the Women of The Moose Lodge , Eastern Star, and VFW of Peru.
She attended St. Mathews Church in Wabash and was on the Board along with her husband, Walter, and also taught Sunday School. She worked at General Tire and Vernon Mannor both of Wabash and also Peru Trust of Peru, but most of the time she was a house wife and mother.
In adddition to her husband, she is also survived by her child Sharan Harter (Roderick) of Marion, daughter in law Debbie Wibel of Peru, brother Larry Young (Marge) of Wabash, step children Bryan, Lori, Marcia, Monica, and Teresa, 6 grandchildren Myles Shives (Stacey) of Tulsa, OK, Mark Wibel (Tracy), Brent Wibel, Brandon Wibel of Peru, Nick Wibel of Converse, Jessica Stagal of Peru, 5 great grandchildren, Madisyn Wibel, Zayden Wibel of Peru, Lydia Shives, Vincent Shives of Tulsa, OK, Keagan Wibel of Roann, and several nieces and nephews.
Beverly is preceded in death by her parents, first spouse, Dallas L. Wibel, 2 sons, David R. Wibel, Terry L. Wibel, and granddaughter, Shawna Wibel.
Visitation will be held from 11am to 1pm on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 1pm with Pastor Brian Daniels officiating. Interment will follow at Peoria Cemetery.
