Roberta “Bobbie” Jean Bookwalter, 73, of Peru passed away at her residence on Monday, January 15, 2024.
She was born in Peru, Indiana to the late Robert Eugene Behny Sr. and Annie Katherine (Orpurt) Behny.
Bobbie retired from Square D. She played softball for many years with the Red Birds and the Circus City Queens.
Bobbie is survived by her companion of 39 years, Judy Grimes, her son, Eric Stephen Bookwalter of Peru, siblings; Bob (Jill) Behny of Anderson, Indiana, and Sara Ousley of Peru, Indiana, brother-in-law, Vern Grimes of Peru, and several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
She is preceded in death by her parents, sister, Lois Henry, and sister-in-law, Nancy Grimes.
Visitation will be held from 11am to 1pm on Monday, January 22, 2024 at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 West Third Street, Peru. The funeral service will follow at 1pm with Pastor Kenny Cole officiating. Internment will follow at Ever-Rest Memorial Park Cemetery in Logansport, Indiana.
