Bernice M. Simpson Meek, 93, of Wabash, Indiana, died at 4:00 am, Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at her home. She was born on November 17, 1930, in Bippus, Indiana, to Henry and Lena (Copeland) Gressley.
Bernice worked several years at Swingline, Magnetics, and General Tire, all in Wabash, and also was a home health care aide. She lived in Wabash most of her life.
She is survived by her two grandsons, Thomas Simpson of LaFontaine, Indiana and Kenneth Adams of Pennsylvania, six great grandchildren, and her brother, Ival Gressley of Wabash, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her parents three sons, Asberry Dwayne Simpson, Thomas Henry Simpson, and David Simpson; her grandson Asberry Michael Simpson; two brothers Sherman and Minor Gressley, and her sister Betty Treska.
Funeral services will be 10:00 am Thursday, February 15, 2024, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash, with Pastor J.P. Freeman officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawns Cemetery, Wabash. Friends may call 9-10 am Thursday at the funeral home.
