Ashli Jo (Sams) Walker

Ashli Jo (Sams) Walker, 32, of Peru, Indiana, died at 8:12 pm, Monday, February 5, 2024, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.  She was born on November 17, 1991, in Kokomo, Indiana, to Dallas M. Sams and Jennifer Ostler.

Ashli was a 2010 graduate of Lafayette Jefferson High School in Lafayette. She married Sidney “Smitte” Walker, III in Las Vegas, Nevada on March 22, 2021. She was a health care provider. Ashli was a wonderful cook, enjoyed watching her shows, getting manicures and pedicures, helping people, and loved being with her family. She loved most of all spending time with her daughter, QorLana.  

She is survived by her husband, Sidney “Smitte” Walker, III of Peru, father and stepmother, Dallas M. (Brenda) Sams of Lagro, Indiana, mother, Jennifer (Robbie Wysong) Ostler of Kokomo, children; QorLana E.M. Walker of Peru, Cortez Walker and Corteshia Walker, both of Gary, Indiana, Cashmere V. Walker of Lafayette, Israel H. Walker of Atlanta, Georgia, Gregory Bynum of Lake Station, Indiana, Cyan Walker of Chicago, Illinois, and Cyncere K. Walker of Lafayette, grandparents, Roger and Mary Ann Martin of Jasonville, Indiana, siblings; Andru (Kayla Ann) Sams of Kokomo, Aaron (Shaina) Creech of Peru, Bethanie (Damien Shepherd) Martin of Wabash, Danielle Prather of Kokomo, and stepsister, Nikki Feete, aunts, Cyndi Sams of Wabash, Michelle Waitt of Cicer, Indiana, and Stephanie Minor of Kokomo, nieces and nephews; Austin Ray Sams, Bentley Martin, Lincoln Martin, Paislee Shepherd, Jareth Creech Lancaster, Brynlee Sams, Destiny Hester, and James Hester, cousins; Kayla Sams, Christian (Beverly) Sams, Scott (Abby) Pearson, Shelby Pini, Kenneth (Aprille) Ostler, Krissy Chapman, and Katie Waitt, and special friends, Sherese Bradley-Rizo, Amber Sharp, Renee Miller, Candace Grady, Mark Keller, Beverly Johnson, and Salathea Williams. She was preceded in death by her brother, Austin Daniel Sams, uncle, Timothy Sams, grandparents; Linda and Dallas Sams, and Max and Marlene Bidwell, nephew, Liam Martin, and aunt, Ladonna Sams.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Monday, February 12, 2024, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash, with Jeff Porter officiating. Burial will be in Sharpsville Cemetery, .  Friends may call 12:30 – 2:00 pm Monday at the funeral home.
