Anthony Pierre “Pete” Stonerock

Anthony Pierre “Pete” Stonerock, 77, Marion, passed away at 5:42 p.m. on Tuesday, August 21, 2018, at Miller’s Merry Manor in Marion.  He was born in Knightstown on September 11, 1940, to the late Robert and Ruby (Pitts) Brown and graduated from Knightstown High School.  On May 8, 1970, he married Patricia “Pat” E. Martin, and adopted their three children, Lori, Sherri, and Mitchell.

Pete was a U.S. Army veteran from 1957-1976, served three tours in Vietnam, was stationed in Germany, and served as a recruiter.  Following his military service, he was employed with Burns Security.  Previous communities of residence included Indianapolis and St. Augustine, Florida.  Some of his favorite pastimes were watching Westerns and war movies, reading, and playing cards, especially Euchre.

He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Pat; daughter, Lori J. Williamson, Gulf Shores, Alabama; son, Mitchell S. (Devin) Stonerock, Beech Grove; grandchildren, Chad (Katie) Williamson, Flushing, Michigan, Adam (Rachel) Williamson, Marion, Brooke (Eric) Smith, Japan, Evan (Jonqual) Garrett, Alaska,  Spencer S. (Brittney) Stonerock, Indianapolis, and Macy Stonerock, Indianapolis; great-grandchildren, Marissa, Morgan, and Conor Williamson, all from Indianapolis, Conner Smith, Japan, Camreigh Williamson, Flushing, Michigan, Jayceon, Kelvin, and Ka’myree Garrett, all from Alaska, Phoenix Stonerock, Indianapolis, and a great-granddaughter on the way; sisters, Diane (Bill) Brouis, Cindy Tompkins, Michelle White, and Bobbi Jo Brown; and sons-in-law, Don Williamson and Barry Garrett.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Sherri Denise Stonerock-Garrett.

The family will receive visitors from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with Pete’s memorial service beginning at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, August 28, 2018, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.  Following the service, inurnment will take place at Estates of Serenity.
