Alice G. Woods, 88, of Marion, passed away at 12:59 pm on Thursday, November 2, 2023, at Marion Health. Alice was born in Hyden, Kentucky, on Sunday, January 27, 1935, to Dewey and Rebecca (Pennington) Gross. On June 17, 1972, she married Francis Bruce Woods, and he preceded her in death on October 16, 1998.
Alice graduated from Hyden High School and worked as a dietician for 24 years with VA Northern Indiana Health Care System in Marion.
Alice was dedicated to her Lord and her church and had been a member of Woodland Hills Church of Christ for several years.
Survivors include her sisters, Jewel (Bill) Mobley of Marion, Jane (Bill) Rowe of Marion, and Mary (Ernest) Baker of KY, as well as several nieces, nephews, and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, Alice was preceded in death by six brothers and three sisters.
The family will receive visitors from 11:00 am to 12:00 noon on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
Immediately following the time of visitation, a funeral service to celebrate Alice’s life will begin at 12:00 noon with Bruce Everett officiating. Burial will take place at Estates of Serenity in Marion.
