Albert LeRoy Johnson, 93, Huntington, IN, and formerly of Florida for many years, passed away on Friday, February 5, 2016, at Parkview Huntington Hospital, Huntington, IN.
Mr. Johnson was born on April 7, 1922, in Huntington, IN, to Ferd and Mildred (Olinger) Johnson. His parents preceded him in death. Mr. Johnson married Phyllis Nadeen Smith on June 7, 1942. Phyllis preceded him in death on December 4, 2001.

Mr. Johnson was a 1940 graduate of Huntington High School. He was member of the United States Army and served during WW II. Mr. Johnson was a recipient of the Purple Heart. He was a printer and worked for the Federal Government, Herald Press, Journal Gazette, Our Sunday Visitor and the Tampa Tribune. He was a 50 year member of the Masons, a 50 year member of VFW Post #2689, and a 50 year member of the American Legion Post #7.

Mr. Johnson is survived by two sons, Ted (Ann) Johnson, Huntington, IN, Mark Johnson, FL; one daughter, Anna Johnson, FL; and 8 grandchildren, Jeremy (Alexa) Johnson, Jason (Candace) Johnson, both of Huntington, IN, Shannon, Jody, Jeff, LeeAnn, Josh and Saralynn, all of FL. He is also survived by 9 great grandchildren.

Along with his parents and wife he was preceded in death by one son, John Johnson; one brother, Ferd Johnson, Jr.; and half-brother, Bob Stevens.

There will be no calling or services.

Burial will be at Star of Hope Cemetery, Huntington, IN.
