Agnes “Marie” Gallaway

Agnes “Marie” Gallaway, 86, Marion, passed away at her son’s residence in Noblesville at 7:06 p.m. on Thursday, October 11, 2018.  She was born in Atoka, Oklahoma, on July 26, 1932, to the late Hugh A. and Minnie (Alexander) Still.  On May 29, 1948, she married her loving husband, Elmer Gallaway, and he survives.

Marie was a graduate of Heber Springs, Arkansas, and retired from RCA after 37 years of service.  She was a member of Lighthouse Assembly of God and faithfully served the Lord in various areas, including singing alto in the church choir.

Marie loved her family dearly and counted it all joy to serve them.  She was a fantastic cook and the family always looked forward to her fixing her famous Texas sheet cake.  It was definitely one of their favorite desserts.  Marie loved to crochet and was very talented.  Her family cherishes the many afghans and baby blankets and clothes she made.  She also enjoyed reading Amish novels and traveling.

She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Elmer; daughter, Nancy (Glenn) Garrison, Rochester, New York; sons, Terry (Pam) Gallaway, Noblesville, and Mark Gallaway, Marion; daughter-in-law, Brenda McManis; 8 grandchildren, Crystal (Doug) Cutting, Nicole (Channing) Park, Ashley (Logan) Stafford, Anna Marie Gallaway, Jessica (Jason) Pauley, Mark Gallaway Jr., Jason (Amanda) Gallaway, and Amanda (Travis) Stikman; 16 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Joann Ferguson, Nova Moore, Sue (Robert) Sparks, and Linda (Freddie) Chambless.

Also preceding her in death were her son, Mike Gallaway, and brothers-in-law, Louis Ferguson and W.D. Moore.

The family will receive visitors from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, October 16, 2018, at Lighthouse Assembly of God, 5909 S. Jay St., Marion, IN.

Services to celebrate Marie’s life will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 17, 2018, at the church with Pastor Jerry Gallaway officiating.  Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory.

Arrangements are entrusted to Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
