Wanda “Susie” Daugherty

Wanda “Susie” Daugherty, 75, Marion, passed away in the early morning hours of Sunday, December 31, 2017. Born to the late Mary Alice (nee Hall) and Floyd Shotts, she grew up in Bloomington, Indiana, where she was a 1960 graduate of Bloomington High School.

She retired from Thomson Consumer Electronics (formerly RCA) in 2003 after 37 years. Upon retirement, she immediately began volunteering at Marion General Hospital, where she served as a volunteer for nearly 14 years. Susie was an avid reader and she never met a true crime story she didn’t like. She also enjoyed bike riding, walking at the River Walk in Matter Park, going to breakfast with her friends, and visiting Natural Bridge State Park in Kentucky. Her favorite pastime, however, was sitting on her front porch. She was also a long-time member of Grace Community Church.

Survivors include her husband of 45-years, Ray Daugherty, Marion; daughter, Gina Daugherty, and son-in-law, Ray Webber, Cincinnati, Ohio; step-daughter, Stephanie Pratt, and step-son, Elgin “Louie” Daugherty, both from Lexington, Kentucky; sisters, Sandy (Ron) Morrell, Lizton, Indiana, and Betty (Phil) Sanderson, Billings, Montana; brother, Paul “Bob” Shotts, San Jose, California; grandchildren, Kenny Tincher, Nevada, Missouri, Travis Hines, Marion, and James Allen Smith, Marion; and several great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by two sons, William “Bill” Tincher and Robert “Joe” Tincher.

Family and friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with Susie’s funeral service beginning at 1 p.m. on Thursday, January 4, 2018, at Integrity Funeral Care, 2901 S. Washington St., Marion, IN. Pastor Mick Simpkins will be officiating with burial following at Grant Memorial Park.
