Walter was born in Linton, Indiana on December 23, 1942. He was one of 6 children born to the late Clarence and Ruth M. (Brown) Stevens.
Larry was a 1962 graduate of Gerstmeyer High School in Terre Haute. After high school he enlisted in the United States Army and served from 1966 until his honorable discharge in 1968. Later Larry owned and operated Clean Air Service in Indianapolis and retired in early 2016. In his free time, Larry enjoyed going to casinos and will be remembered for being a very lucky person. He was also a member of the American Legion, VFW and the Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include his wife, Maria E. Stevens, Indianapolis; son, Walter L. Stevens, Jr., Westfield; 2 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held at 1:30pm on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 in Owen-Weilert-Duncan Funeral Home, Marion Chapel, 2722 South Washington Street, Marion, Indiana. Extended family and friends will gather from 11:30 until services on Tuesday in the funeral home.
Larry will be buried with military honors in Marion National Cemetery at 2pm on Tuesday.
