Samuel Edward Rohr, 71, of rural Roann, Indiana, died at 2:10 pm, Sunday, February 5, 2017 at his home. He was born January 16, 1946 in Washington, Pennsylvania to Charles Stephen and Edna (Scovert) Rohr.

Sam was a US Navy veteran, serving from 1964-68. He married Susie Ford in Wabash on March 20, 1982. He was a contractor 50 years, and owned and operated Rohr and Son construction. He was President of the Wabash Babe Ruth five years, was instrumental in reorganizing the Wabash Quarterback Club in 1990, and also coached baseball several years. Sam enjoyed golfing, spending time with friends, and especially attending his grandkids’ sporting events. He was very proud of his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Susie Rohr of Roann; two children, Samuel L. (Jolane) Rohr of Rochester, Indiana and Christy (Matt) Nicolaysen of Alpine, California; seven grandchildren, Tom Rohr, Sarah Rohr, and Christopher Rohr, all of Rochester, Zachary McQuiddy and Abby McGinn, both of Alpine, California, Peyton Anderson of Tucson, Arizona, and Paris Smedley of Indiana; his brother, Brian (Karen) Featheringill of Columbus, Ohio; and his sister-in-law, Myrna Rohr of Hemet, California. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Samantha Anderson, and two brothers, Charles and Rick Rohr.

There will be no services. Arrangements by Grandstaff-Hentgen Bender Chapel, North Manchester.
