Ruth A. Thomson, age 79, of Huntington, passed away Thursday, May 26, 2016 at 12:10 am at her home.  She had worked in a factory, as a cook, waitress, and bartender, and delivered the Herald-Press.  She was a lifetime member of the Moose Auxiliary and member of the Eagles Auxiliary and American Legion Post #7 Auxiliary. She enjoyed collecting and making dolls, creating quilts and crocheting afghans, cooking and raising her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

 

Ruth was born January 26, 1937, in Little Rock, Arkansas, the daughter of Lancy and Lessie (Brown) Arivett.  She is survived by 2 daughters Sherry Boardman of Huntington and Kathie (Kenny) Clark of Pierceton, a son Ron (Vickie) King of Liberty Mills, 10 grandchildren Ron King, Scott King, Brian Clark, Chris (Mika) Clark, Travis (Stephanie) Boardman, Rashell (Eric) Stockman, Regina Ott, Heather Addair, Tiffani King, Stephanie (Travis) Cline, 23 great-grandchildren, a brother Darrel Arivett of Fort Wayne, and 3 sisters Kathie (Bob) Frederick of Huntington, Nel Rogers of Hartford City and Donna Robbins of Huntington.  She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Oscar Eugene King, a daughter Amanda Marie King, 2 brothers Wayne and Ray Arvett, and 2 sisters Patsy and Ailene Arvett.

 

A memorial serve will be held Saturday, May 28 at 11:30 am at the Congregational Christian Church, 310 N. Walnut Street, North Manchester, Indiana, with visitation from 10 am to service time.
