Downtown Wabash Farmers Market returning for its 17th season

WABASH, IN—Downtown Wabash, Inc. is eager to announce the return of the Downtown Wabash Farmers Market beginning Saturday, May 11. Entering its 17th season, the beloved community staple will continue its legacy of offering local handmade, homemade and homegrown products. The 2024 Season will run every Saturday from May 11 – Sept. 28 from 8 a.m. – noon located at the Honeywell Center/Wabash Elks parking lot on the corner of Cass and Market Streets.

Community members and visitors alike are invited to explore an abundance of fresh produce, handcrafted goods and homemade treats while supporting our local economy and fostering quality of place in Downtown Wabash. Over 40 vendors participating in the 2024 season will feature handmade, homemade and homegrown items including fresh fruits and vegetables, locally-sourced meat and dairy products, homegoods, plants, baked goods, arts and artisan wares.

“I enjoy catching up with returning vendors, meeting new ones and watching the community enjoy the market each Saturday,” says Downtown Wabash, Inc. Downtown Coordinator, Carly Hawkins, who is entering her third year as the Farmers Market Manager. “We have had more vendors than ever before immediately sign up for the season, and we are thrilled to announce that the market is already at full capacity.”

The Downtown Wabash Farmers Market is a family-friendly atmosphere, which includes furry friends, as pets are always welcome. Shoppers are invited to experience additional offerings including a kid’s activity corner, live music, food trucks, vendor demonstrations and more.

The Downtown Wabash Farmers Market will accept financial assistance programs such as Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, also known as SNAP, throughout the 2024 Season. The market also offers Double Up Indiana Programming for SNAP customers, offering free fruits and vegetables when they use their SNAP/EBT card. For each $1 spent in SNAP at the market, customers earn $1 in Double Up incentives to buy fruits and vegetables at the same market. Each customer is limited to earning $20 per day in Double Up incentives. These programs play a crucial role in fostering inclusivity and accessibility within the community.
