Rose Runion, 70, of Huntington, IN, passed away on Wednesday, July 13, 2016, at 11:50 a.m. at her residence.
Rose was born on August 3, 1945, in Floyd Co., KY, to Alfred and Annie (Hall) Tackett. Her parents preceded her in death. Rose married Harold E. Runion on September 6, 1969. He preceded her in death on April 30, 2007.
Mrs. Runion was a self-employed housekeeper. She enjoyed doing yardwork and tending to her flowers. She loved going to the casino but her true passion was spending time with her family.
Mrs. Runion is survived by one step-daughter, Alice (Jim) Huffman, Warren, IN; one brother, Bobby Tackett, Shreveport, LA; one sister, Linda (Richard) Lindaas, Huntington, IN; two nieces, Lisa Mygrant, Angela (Joe) Vance, both of Huntington, IN; several nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly; and her beloved dogs, Booties Rose and Goldie Sue.
Along with her parents and husband she was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles Tackett, Allen Tackett, Billie Tackett; and three sisters, Avene Copeland, Fannie Mygrant and Tommie Sue Haddock.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, July 17, 2016, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson St., Huntington, IN.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 18, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN, with Past Kent Young officiating.
Burial will be in Pilgrim’s Rest Cemetery, Huntington, IN.
